IIT Goa along with GEC has signed a MoU today (09-06-2020) with PWD, Govt. of Goa collaboratively to work on the sustainable water distribution in Goa. This MoU reflects the commitment of IIT Goa and GEC to develop and disseminate the technological solutions relevant to society through its academic and research programs including the platform of its Centre for Appropriate Technology for Rural Sectors (CATeRS).
The event was organized collectively by IIT Goa and GEC on 09-06-2020. Director IIT Goa spoke about challenges in Goa about water harvesting. He suggested some studies on soil water interaction pertaining to Goa region. Principal Chief Engineer Er. Uttam P. Parsekar shared the achievements and milestones established in water supply and distribution in the state of Goa managed by PWD. Principal of GEC Dr. M S Krupashankara stressed the augmentation of water supply in the campus. Prof. K G Guptha and Prof. Milind Sohoni elaborated the proposed work under MoU. Er. Vazirani and Dr. Ashish Bhateja and Prof. Ruddhi Jamble coordinated the event respectively from PWD and IIT Goa and GEC.
